McDonald’s Menu Items – Pinoy Specials
Initially when McDonald’s started their operations in the Philippines they used to serve their standard menu which was performing pretty decently for the McDonald’s Corp.
But do you know what made McDonald’s Philippines a success? The addition of Filipinized food into their menu!
This customization in McDonald’s Philippines menu was itself a very hard battle to win as George Yang the company founder, faced many challenges to convince McDonald’s Corp Head Office at States. However, later on in the form of success, these alterations proved that this battle was worth fighting for…
McSpaghetti
It will be a shock to everyone that McDonald’s first introduced McSpaghetti way back in the 1970’s – yes that was 54 years ago! This is the fact that only hardcore McDo Fans know about. However in 1980’s they stopped serving it in the majority of their locations except Orlando – Florida, and the Philippines.
You might be wondering, then how it can be known as a dish which was specially made considering the taste and culture of the Philippines?
Well, the variation of McSpaghetti sold in Orlando – Florida is completely different then it is available here in Philippines. If you are familiar with Pinoy culture, you must know how much people like having Kiddie Spaghetti in the country. This sweet spaghetti meal has been a go to meal for the kids back then and even now parents cook this for their kids. Considering this, McDonald’s started serving their own version of Kiddie Spaghetti in the form of McSpaghetti in 1986 which now you can only have if you are in McDonald’s Philippines!
McDonald’s Philippines is always focused towards improving and providing what their customers want. This data-driven approach has helped them be the first choice for all the patrons out there who are craving for the Fast-Food which is not just affordable but also resonates with their cultural heritage.
Filipinos have always been a targeted audience for all the chains who sell fried chicken on their menu. But McDonald’s took the game to the next level by introducing their Crispy Chicken McDo in 1987 which serves with a combination of plain steamed rice and gravy instead of buns. This simple yet effective addition to their menu is what made Filipinos fall in love with McDo.

Crispy Chicken Fillet Ala King
Filipino people are famous for prioritizing their appetite. We drop everything we are doing when it is meal time. While it is important for us to have every meal of the day on time, it is also important that we have quality yet affordable food for our meal. Especially if we are eating outside or ordering it from any restaurant.
Since McDonald’s strongly emphasizes on providing good quality food to Filipinos which will make them feel that they are at home while eating from an international fast food chain without compromising their taste buds. They started serving Crispy Chicken Fillet Ala King to their Pinoy customers on 7th September 2015.
Mcdonald’s included Longganisa Breakfast Meal into their Philippines breakfast menu back in February 2020. Longganisa is a Filipino Sausage which is widely used in every breakfast in the country. Usually served with garlic fried rice or with fresh vegetables and fruits.
If you are a foreigner and planning to visit the Philippines, your trip will not be considered as completed if you have not tried Longganisa in your breakfast. Talking of the traditional Filipinized breakfast – what is better than having a Mcdonald’s breakfast menu item that is uniquely crafted only for Filipinos and which you can not find in any other branch except for all of them that are operating in the Philippines!

Cheesy Eggdesal
Breakfast Meal
This delicious, cheesy, yet traditional breakfast meal entered the McDonald’s menu in 2015. In this meal, the restaurant has cleverly replaced their world famous McMuffins with the Philippines traditional bun called Pandesal.
Just like longganisa, pandesals are known to be the essential part of the Filipino breakfast. This breakfast meal is very convenient for all the types of customers out there.
Either you are getting late for your work or you simply want a meal for your breakfast that is budget-friendly and as well as fills all the filipino flavors that you may find in any traditional breakfast, this Cheesy Eggdesal Breakfast Meal from McDonald’s got you covered!
Items You Must Try – My Recommendation
Spicy McWings With PeaChee Fruit Fizz
Having fried chicken at McDonald’s ever made you feel skeptical? I’m assuming that the answer would be a big YES! It’s obvious, because the restaurant is known for their burgers and fries – not for their fried chicken items. However, that is not the case at McDo Philippines.
Starting from the price point of ₱ 236, these sweet yet spicy wings can fulfill all of your fried chicken cravings. The whole meal comes with their recently launched PeaChee Fruit Fizz drink which you can enjoy either with the iconic fries or rice. I would suggest you to have it with fries, you will thank me later!
Mushroom Pepper Steak Meal
If you are a student, an office worker, or a busy business person who wants to have a quick yet satisfying lunch option, this delightful and mouth watering dish from the McDonald’s Philippines menu can be a good choice for you to have. Starting from the affordable price range of ₱ 147.00 – this delectable meal comes with tender beef patty which is smothered with savory mushrooms and pepper sauce on the top alongside plain steamed rice. The sauce might taste a little bit salty for you initially, but with the mix of those aromatic mushrooms on the top – this is the deadliest combination McDo has ever came up with as per my opinion.
BFF Fries N’ McFloat Combo
Ever felt that you are addicted to those deep fried golden potato stripes? Their unique taste and freshness is what made me fall in love with them and I am assuming that the case is the same with you. Well this item on McDonald’s Philippines menu is perfect for all the McDo Fries lovers out there to keep their cravings for fries in check.
Consider the BFF fries as the ocean of those golden stripes and yourself as a deep diver. Because no matter how addictive you are to them, I have doubts that you won’t be able to eat it completely by yourself in a single go. That is why McDonald’s added this McFloat combo for us to share our love for fries with our dear ones. At the price of ₱ 282.00, this bomb of happiness comes with 3 coke McFloats which you can share with your favorite people.
Crispy Chicken Sandwich
This sandwich is highly recommended for those who have a tight budget and want to fill up their stomach with signature McDo flavors. This is one of the cheapest sandwiches in the entire McDonald’s Philippines menu. The important thing is that it is not only cheap but also tastes so good. With its irresistible flavor and satisfying crunch you might want to eat another one – two at a price of a single Quarter Pounder!
